Capital Holdings Ltd
(2001) and Keppel FELS Energy and
Infrastructure Ltd
(1999-2002).

During her
tenure at the
Institute of Policy
Studies in the
1990s, first as
Deputy Director
(1990-97) then
Director
(1997-2000), she was
involved in a number
of public committees
spanning the
following areas:
cost review, wages,
manpower, public
education, tax, CPF
and economics.

She has extensive
public speaking and
facilitation
experience often
bringing diverse
groups from the
public, private,
non-government and
media sectors
together in order to
bridge understanding
and achieve
consensus.

Her international
experience included
participation in
four international
advisory groups as
Singapore’s only
representative,
namely: the APEC
Eminent Persons
Group; the ASEAN-EU
Eminent Persons
Group; the
Asia-Europe Vision
Group and the Task
Force on the
AFTA-CER Free Trade
Area.

As a Consultant to
the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs
(1996- 2000), she
was directly
involved in the
policy formulation
associated with the
hosting of the World
Trade Organisation’s
Ministerial Meeting
in Singapore in
1996, as well as
several APEC and
ASEM meetings.

Served
as a Nominated
Member of Parliament
in Singapore for two
terms (1994-96 and
1997-99).
-
Taught
economics at the
National University
of Singapore
(1982-89), and was a sessional instructor
at the University of
British Columbia and
Simon Fraser
University while on
leave in Vancouver
(1989-90).
